I think it time to declare victory and move on from this project, returning it to the rebuilt governments and public service structures.
Hmm. I might be getting this site confused with Iraq. At any rate, I think between the sporadic quality of my “work” and the sporadic quantity of my erstwhile co-host’s, the central tenets of the site have been so completely violated as to render much further daily effort null and void.
Which is not to say that it hasn’t achieved what I wanted out of it, at least. I’m in the habit of taking the camera everywhere rather than leaving it on the shelf. I have a better, if far from complete, idea of what them little buttons on that there camera does. I’m thinking a lot more about what I want to get from a shot before pressing the shutter rather than just pressing the shutter.
I’ve also recognised that the time and effort involved in getting one good photo a day really isn’t sustainable with my lifestyle or my passion for the hobby. I’d rather spend a good chunk of one day wandering around and getting a number of interesting shots and dripping them out daily, rather than get home from work tired, slightly annoyed and then being reduced to lining up batteries or photographing a cafetière.
I’m going to try to keep this up, but not to the extent that it feels like a chore rather than a joy. You can see how it pans out over at my Flickr photostream or my MobileMe gallery.
Until next time, take care of yourself, and each other.
